My holiday to Zagreb, Croatia and a daytrip to Ljubljana, Slovenia

Last year me and my best friend decided to go to Croatia for 5 days so we decided to go to Zagreb which was only a 2 hour flight from Brussels! Here's what we go up to during those couple of days!

We decided to book a hotel in the city center which ended up being a bit of a scam because it was more like a studio in a house but it was only a 20mn drive from the airport and only like 10mn away from the city center. My friend has his driving licence so he decided to rent a car for the week there, which was very practical. We also had a grocery store a 2 minute walk away where we bought breakfast every morning! Plus when we didn't want to use the car we got the tramway and tickets were only 0,80cts!!

On our first day we decided to visit a couple museums. We started with the museum of broken relationships and we also visited the hangover museum!

We loved both museum but particularly liked the hangover museum beacause it was quite interactive. They also give you a bottle of alcohol (not sure what but it was very strong lol) to drink before starting the visit of the museum. Disclosure: we took the tramway to the museum, my friend didn't drink and drive!! 

We then had a wonder through Zagreb's old town

They had funny messages on their bottles of water, this one was my favourite!

We discovered Ljubljana, Slovenia was only a 90mn drive away from Zagreb so we hoped on a flixbus and went there!

Back to exploring!

We decided to take a boat tour on the river and we saw this mosaic space invader

Then it was already time to go back to Zagreb!

We took the car and went to Rastoke national park which was very pretty

On the next day we decided to take the car and go to the seaside. We chose to go to Opatija, which apparently is like the cote d'azur of Croatia! We went for a swim at the beach - the water was freezing cold but it was still fun!

Then we went for dinner in the nicest restaurant I've ever been to. We had bruscetta as a started and then I got ribs and mash and when I tell you it was the best meal I've ever had I mean it, I still dream of those ribs!!!!

Back to exploring Zagreb, we went to the chocolate museum and an art museum which was very fun

One last night out in Zagreb, we went to a wine bar which was very cool!

We said goodbye to the car and it was time to go back home. We got stranded back at Brussels airport beacause the bus company we planned to go home with, was on strike so we called all our friends for  4 hours but nobody could come pick us up, so my friend called his parents and they drove all the way from Dunkirk to Brussels to then drop us off in Lille, it was lovely of them!
