Solo travelling to Canada day 5

On my firth day in Montreal, I decided to head to the biggest park in the city which is the Parc du Mont-Royal. 

I saw online that it was like 700 steps to climb to get to the viewpoint and then walk around the park and I didn't fancy that at all so to avoid that I got a lyft to the highest point of the park (to the car park basically) and then walked all the way around the park and then down to the town.

Within 2 minutes of being in the park, I saw a black squirrel which was pretty cool!

I've never been to New-York, but this is apparently the equivalent in Montreal. It's HUGE and it's in the middle of the town. You'd never guess you're in the middle of town by seeing all these trees!

Seeing the town from all the way up here was really impressive !! 

I had planned to go to the Musée des Beaux Arts after the park. I ended up walking through the McGill campus which is quite cool!

From there I decided to head to the musée des beaux arts.

I then walked through le village which is the LGBTQ+ neighbouhood but I didn't stay long as I was planning on going back to the old port

Saw some more cool buildings.

This is the clock tower (tour de l'horloge) and it was designed by the same people who designed big ben!

The aiport is less than 20km away from the town center so you can always see airplane.

There's a little stall at the Jacques Cartier pier that sells loads of maple syrup products so I bought loads of different products to bring home. 

Canada day was approaching so they changed the flag on the big wheel.

Was craving a poutine, so I had another poutine from the food truck at the Jacques Cartier bridge I always went to.

Walked back to the hotel and was craving a sweet treat. My Canadian friend told me I absolutely had to try a Beaver Tail while I was in Canada, so I had one. I had one that was covered in milk chocolate, white chocolate and maple syrup. It was so delicious, it was very sweet but it was really nice. 

Solo travelling to Canada day 4

The next day, I slept in until 10am because I was really tired from walking so much the day before lol!

That day I had to get the metro because the place I was going to was too far away for me to walk. On the way to the metro I saw lots of cool buildings.

This is the olympic stadium and next to it is the biodome which is where I was going to that day. I was wondering if they'd filmed Heated Rivalry here but they didn't. Well, in the series they're here but they didn't film it here!

I loved the way it was set, it was so fun and pretty!

I saw some parrots and some sort of mokey I don't remember the name of!

More birds.

A very cool starfish and some sea anemones.

The part I was most excited about!!! The jellyfish!!! I stayed there looking at them for at least 5mn lol.

Some more birds lol I now realize there were a lot of birds there.

Was quite chuffed at this picture I took because I thought it looked quite cool but now I look at it it's just a normal photo!!!

I knew my mum would be excited about the puffins so I had to take a picture of them for her!!! I even bought her a puffin toy in the gift shop!

And that was it! It was very fun but quite small. I can't actually remember the price but I thought it was fun so that's all that matters I guess. I went to the gift shop and bought a couple bits for me and my family. I remember sitting on a bench outside eating a bar of chocolate I bought at the gift shop because I was having a hypo.

Took the metro back to town. There was a bookshop that I'd seen on tiktok that looked really cool that I wanted to go to and it was in a shopping center so I had a wander around. I went to an makeup shop because I saw they sold lots of Asian beauty and skincare. I bought a couple bits because everything was 50% off so it was the perfect excuse. I don't actually know what the name of the shop was but if you see this pink sign it's directly on the right!

Found the bookshop I wanted to go to. It's called Indigo. It was huge!!!! It had a lovely atmoshpere. It reminded me of Waterstones but much better. They even had a café within the shop. I didn't think about it until I got there, but most books were in French because French is the main language in Quebec. I still managed to find a couple of books in English and I also bought a tote bag, a loon keyring because when in Canada! (I'll admit I mainly bought it because it reminded me of Heated Rivalry!) and a Snoopy book mark!

More walking around the town and saw more cool buildings!

Still have no idea what this silver circle is for but I found it quite cool

Walked around some more and saw some cool buildings and things.

I obviously had to go to Tim Horton's at least once while I was in Canada! It didn't disappoint, it was very nice!!

I noticed that they have the Canadian and Quebec flag everywhere.

Walked back to the old port.

Had another poutine at the food stand at the Jacques Cartier pier (still as delicious). Just before I had this I got attacked by a bird so I didn't sit where I usually sit because that's where I was attacked!!!! LOL!!!! 

Slowly started walking back to my hotel.

Saw these 2 things that made me giggle.

Ordered food on Doordash again and had no inspiration so I ordered food from Jack le Coq. I ordered poutine and a side of mac and cheese. The poutine was alright but it was nowhere near as nice as the one I had at the Jacques Cartier pier! The mac and cheese was delicious though!!
