What I've been up to this week #14

A lot has happened this week I feel like there wasn't a day where I wasn't doing anything. I spent most the week getting all the last bits ready to move out of my flat in Lille. I've been told I basically have two weeks to leave the flat which is a bit scary as I've been living there for just over 3 years but its time for some change. Here's what I got up to this week when I wasn't tidying the flat!

Did a lot of scrapbooking this week.

Took this picture and realised how much my hair has grown since I last dyed it and has my fringe. I'm in the process of letting my hair grow so I can get my natural colour back.

Had a few medical appointments this week followed by sweat treats from the bakery next to the health center.

Then one fo the most exciting parts of the week, my brother came to Lille because we got tickets to go to the Brazil - Tunisia football match. We had really good seats and the bonus is we only paid 20€ per ticket so that's even better!! Before going to the football match we did a bit of shopping and after the match we got wraps from the kebab shop because they'd ran out of kebab meat... lol! On our way back from the match my brother said don't bother looking at the map I know where we're going (he'd only been to the stadium once before) so I didn't question it and followed him.. well, we ended up walking the wrong way for 20mn so then we were 30mn away from the metro, the walk back was a bit dodgy but we made it. The advantage is by the time we got to the metro station, it was empty so we only had to wait less than 5mn to get on the metro.

Had these sweets that I got from the asian supermarket, they were very nice. I've tried a few flavours of these and all of them are really nice!

Decided I was going to start posting youtube videos so here's the name of my channel if you want to follow my adventures!

Had poke bowl and gyozas on Wednesday

Went for coffee at my favourite coffee shop again!

Then the most exciting part of the week!! The christmas market opened on Wednesday so me and my sister went there. We didn't have food there but I bought two rings and some stickers. On Friday, I went back to the christmas market and had croziflette (my favourite meal ever) and a white kinder bueno pretzel which was delicious! I'm looking forward to going there with my mum and my brother so they can try all the foods I tried!!

on Thursday, it snowed !!!! which was very exciting until I realised there was a hole in my shoes which meant I had soaking wet feet and was a group therapy for another 4 hours so I had to stay with cold and wet feet for 4 hours!!!!! Not so fun!

Speaking of group therapy! We made potatoe and courgette bake followed by cookies, yum!

Mum told me to go buy new socks so I went to the supermarket at the end of my street and I found every single flavour of ciao kombucha !!! So naturally I had to buy them to try them all (I'd only tried the berry one so far). The peach and dragon fruit ones are my favourite!! I'll have to go back and see if they have more next time I'm there!!

Did a lot of reading (I'm loving this book so far!)

There's a new lesbian film that came out last week and I obviously wanted to see it. It was really good!!!! I wanted to read the book before seeing it but was too impatient and excited to see the film so I'll read the book after!!!

On Saturday my sister's boyfriend drove me and my sister back to Dunkirk with all the leftover stuff from my flat which means my flat is now completely empty. We ended up going to the thai restaurant in town. I obviously had to have a pad thai (my favourite) and it was delicious!

Then another exciting thing!! We picked up our new glasses!!!!! I hadn't changed my glasses in at least 6 years and I could feel my vision getting worse and worse and I couldn't see anything anymore so this was well overdue!!

Let's see what next week brings on!!

What i've been up to this week #13

I've been in a reading slump for about a month and a half and I've decided to start reading this Christmassy book I recently bought I'll let you know what I thought of it!

The Christmas decorations have started to be put up in town, I'm trying my hardest to convince mum to put our tree up now but with no luck so far

Had pasta carbonara which I hadn't had in like 2 weeks so I was very happy about that

Did a lot of junk journaling this week. Everytime someone came to my flat in Lille I would take a picture of them to put on my fridge so I decided to put all my photos in this journal. I've just decided to make a photo album of my last 3 years in Lille so I might end up taking them out of my journal to put in my photo album.

Had my favourite salad on the train back from Lille

Had an appointment at the health center

My train to Lille got cancelled and then the train I was going to get after that was delayed 90mn which meant I wasn't going to arrive at my appointment in time so I got a carpool to Lille and was able to watch the sunrise in the car

Wednesday was spent spending the morning at the ophtalmologist and in the afternoon we went to choose our new glasses

On monday it was my diaversary (basically the anniversary of when you were diagnosed with diabetes) and I spent that day in hospital with the diabetic nurse and saw lots of different tests

Andddd back to last sunday, I spent the whole day putting my furniture on sale I earned almost 60€ and someone is coming this week to pick up more so I'll have earned even more!! Bonus!!

What I've been up to this week #11

For some reason the photos won't load in order so this week's post will be in the wrong order of the days but here's the recap of this week:
Yesterday we went to have lunch with one of mums friends that we hadn't seen in 2 years

Had a bit of a diabetic nightmare this week. I had to go on multiple walks a day beacause my blood sugars were so high. I also had to change my cgm while we were in England so I did that. That cgm fell off after a day BUT I'd only brought one cgm with me as I had to change it 2 days before coming home so I thought it would be fine. IT WASN'T!!!!!! That cgm fell off my arm after a day so I was doomed. I also hadn't bought my finger pricker so I couldn't manually check my blood sugars. So it meant I had to spend over 48 hours without knowing what my blood sugars were, which was a bit scary!!!!!! THEN we came home so I put a new cgm on BUT it failed because the needle didn't go into my arm properly so I had to change it AGAIN. And then that cgm worked but blimey what a nightmare!!!

Finally found franui in the shop (they've only existed for a few months I think but they're always really hard to find). They're frozen raspberries covered in white chocolate and then covered in milk chocolate, they were lovely we ate the whole pot in like 10 minutes lol!

We said goodbye to Hastings until Christmas!

Me and my brother never take photos together so this was a rare occasion.

On our last day in England the weather was a bit grotty but we wanted to do something anyways so we went into town and the old town. It wasn't raining much when we left the house but on our way back to the car from the old town we got drenched because it was pouring down with rain!!!

Tried this milk as we don't have it in France and I LOVED it. It tastes exactly like porridge and bonus, its sugar free !!

Celebrated mum's birthday.

Went to Sainsbury's. We always find loads of clothes while we're there because they always seem to have a clearance section!!

We went to Blackbrooks garden center and they had all their Christmas stuff out and we bought some Christmas soaps.

Had Cornish pasties and mash (one of my favourite meals ever).

Went to the Ashford designer outlet and bought loads of clothes. They were about to open their Christmas market so the Christmas atmosphere was there. I always go into le creuset and dream I could buy all their stuff but it costs a fortune so I never buy anything lol.

Went to tkmaxx and I bought a watch and then we went to poundstrechers and I bought some Christmas grinch pyjamas for me and mum.

Played the game of life and I won!

;
Had the best roast dinner ever!!

Also had a battered sausage and chips from the fish and chips shop.

Bought the essentials as a type one diabetic. I always see English type one diabetics praise this brand so I had to give it a go and I had a hypo so I got to try these and I have to say I'm veryyyy impressed within minutes my blood sugar was going up again! Will buy more of these when I'm back in England.

As I said in last week's post, me and mum spent our Saturday afternoon going to loads of charity shops to buy loads of books again. I think me and mum must have bought like 30 books each on this trip so I'm definitely excited to start reading them all!!!

Not captured this week: me and my brother getting tickets to go see the Brazil vs Tunisia football match in Lille in 10 days!!
